As we all know, the East Coast of Australia has been attacked by fires over the past few weeks which has led to homes destroyed, communities evacuated, death of wildlife and destruction of the land.
For many of us in Western Australia, this has involved our friends and families, including mine.
For those who are don’t know, I grew up in the eastern states and my parents and grandparents are both caught in the middle of the destruction of the bushfires.
They were asked to evacuate and my Mum fled to safety, whilst my Dad decided to stay and attempt to protect the houses in their community with a small group of neighbours. So for me, this personally an extremely important cause to share.
Many of our local fitness business in the Perth community are hosting fundraising events over the next week, and here’s your chance to get involved.

An average boutique gym has around 100 members. If your members contribute as low as $10 each then you would have raised $1000. I know that in the Perth Fitfam database we have a list of 440 gyms… that’s $440,000 that we could raise as a community to help support the firefighters on the front lines who have saved our friends and families.
